The Art Gallery takes Maryland Day 2010 by Storm
I'm literally bursting at the seams to show off the pics that were taken on Sat. (April 24th) during UMD's Maryland Day 2010. T.A.G. teamed up with the English Department's Creative Writing Program to bring our visitors an MFA extravaganza. Our MFA exhibition was the perfect match for the Creative Writing's MFA candidates. Together, we presented the Maryland Day 2010 MFA Creative Writing Poetry and Fiction Reading at The Art Gallery. Lindsay Bernal, Natalie Corbin, David Green, Julia Leverone, Jacqueline Orlando, and Adam Pellegrini read to our audience while surrounded by the visual allure of our MFA exhibition. Wow, what a awesome experience! We fit together like PB & J, like shampoo and conditioner, and like well... art and poetry!
MFA Opening Reception a SMASHING SUCCESS!
So what do you get when you blend 5 emerging (and amazing!) artists, free food and drinks, and The Art Gallery on a Friday Night? One great shindig, that's what. These pics were taken last Friday during the 2010 MFA Thesis Exhibition Opening Reception...and they only show a FRACTION of the crowd that showed up. Take a look and tell us what you think of the show at theartgallery@umd.edu. Big shoutout to Roots Market in Olney Md. for hooking T.A.G. up with some tasty and organic treats!

T. A. G. Goes Back to School
The latest stop in The Art Gallery's quest to spread arts education was Nicholas Orem Middle School in Hyattsville, Md. And what a stop it was! Our Education Intern Ashley J. presented Mr. Bell's 6th and 7th graders with a presentation and a make-your-own wallet or
pencil case project. The kids seemed to enjoy the project....especially the decorating! Check out the pics we were able to snap between the glue and glitter. Big thanks to the kids and to Mr. Bell!
